Support
Need help with IfGone? You will find answers to the most common questions below. If you need further assistance, our team is ready to help.
Getting Started
If you are new to IfGone, start by creating a vault at our Create Vault page. You will receive 10 secure, encrypted slots where you can store text entries for whoever you choose to give your QR code to.
Your vault data is encrypted on your device before upload. Your private key is the only way to decrypt or manage your vault — keep it safe. If the private key (and its QR code) is lost and cannot be recovered, the vault will continue to exist, but no-one will ever be able to access its contents. A new vault will need to be created with a new private key.
Common Issues
- Lost private key: If your private key and QR code are both lost, the vault contents are permanently inaccessible. No-one — including IfGone — can decrypt or recover the data. You will need to create a new vault with a new private key and re-enter your information.
- Cannot access a vault: Whoever holds the QR code must wait for the mandatory waiting period to elapse before they can retrieve vault contents. This is a security feature designed to protect the vault owner's data.
- Payment not recognised: Check your email for a payment confirmation. If the issue persists, contact us at support@ifgone.io.
- Vault slots full: Each vault includes 10 slots. You can compress text and upload it as a binary file to store more data in a single slot, though consider whether future readers will be able to open that file format — plain text remains readable for generations. If you need more than 10 slots, additional vaults can be purchased.
